Human Resources - Teacher application and interview procedure

Teacher application and interview procedure
District 128 uses an online application as part of our application and interview process. We hope you find the process easy and efficient.
STEP 1:
Apply online by clicking here
STEP 2:
After you complete your online application and click on the final button to submit the application, it becomes part of the District 128 database. You will then receive an email message advising you that we have received your application.
 STEP 3:
Provide the following supportive paperwork to complete your application:
*      A letter of interest
Official college transcripts (Photocopies are accepted until a job offer is made.)
Teaching certificate (Photocopies are accepted until a job offer is made.)
        Three letters of reference
You can either submit the materials by attaching them electronically to your application or you can mail us the documents and we will scan the documents and attach them to your application.
 STEP 4:
All applications are reviewed by department supervisors and building principals.  From the pool of all applications, applicants will be selected to receive a screening interview.  Screening interviews are conducted by the Human Resources department and/or by the department supervisor.
(Hint: To keep track of our current job openings, consult the 'Job Openings' page on our website.)
STEP 5:
Candidates will be selected from the screened applicants and will advance to a second interview.  Most departments conduct team interviews comprised of department members and building administrators.  This building-level interview usually takes 30 minutes to an hour.
STEP 6:
Final candidates will be scheduled for a short interview with the building principal.  Sometimes, principals invite candidates back for a second interview to help the principal and the team reduce the field to the best candidate.
(Efforts by applicants to contact principals directly without invitation will be referred to HR.)
STEP 7:
After a building’s team identifies the candidate best suited for the opening, reference checks will be made to  listed references.  If you are the selected candidate, a Human Resources representative will contact you to extend an offer.   All new hires must be approved by the Board of Education.  If you received an interview and you are not the finalist, you should receive a letter as soon as the position is approved by the Board of Education.
Due to the large volume of applications received by the district, we are unable to notify every applicant when a position is filled.   As positions are filled and approved by the Board of Education, the position will be removed from our web site.

Please do not hesitate to contact us at (847) 247-4509 with any questions or concerns. Thank you for your interest in investing in the education of the students at District 128.
