While Libertyville High School, Vernon Hills High School and Community High School District 128 have consistently ranked among the top high schools in the state based on student performance, the recently released Illinois State Board of Education data (from the 2008-09 school year) demonstrates that District 128 is not only maintaining its historical level of excellence, but is continuing to build upon its legacy of excellence. The data clearly shows that:
- LHS is ranked as the 5th highest performing suburban high school and VHHS is ranked as the 18th highest performing suburban high school
- Among the 10 top-paying suburban school districts (D128 – 5th), D128 is the ONLY district to have met Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP)
- The increase in the VHHS composite ACT score ranks among the highest increases from 2008 to 2009 (.7)
- LHS is in the TOP 10 for highest percentage increases on PSAE Reading test scores from 2008 to 2009 (7.3%)
- LHS and VHHS are in the TOP 10 for highest percentage increases on the PSAE Math test scores from 2008 to 2009 (LHS – 5.9%; VHHS – 5.9%)
- LHS is 3rd in state among suburban high schools for students meeting and exceeding science standards.
