WELCOME!
Community High School District 128 takes pride in providing quality educational opportunities for all students, as reflected in the
district's mission statement. Each school’s course offerings (VHHS and LHS) are designed to provide a comprehensive and challenging curriculum to meet the needs of all students. In addition to academic and teaching standards developed by the
Illinois State Board of Education, research-based standards have been created by district personnel and serve to shape practice in the areas of school leadership, teaching and learning, and technology.
School improvement planning takes place at the building and district level.
The District 128
Strategic Plan initiated work in the area of curriculum and instruction. A district curriculum committe was established to address curriculum issues periodically. Student achievement data has been collected and analyzed to assist departments in improving instruction so that all student will be successful and meet the learning targets for each course. A curriculum writing project began in 2009 to write common standards and learning targets for all of our course offerings. This work is in progress and is updated periodically below.
NEW! CURRICULUM STANDARDS - UPDATED DECEMBER 2010
You can find the curriculum standards and learning targets for each course in District 128 by clicking on the corresponding department. Each department page has a listing of the courses in that department. If a link exists, the course standards are complete.
